Over $5500 Raised for Dr. Levesque School

FRENCHVILLE – Community spirit was certainly felt throughout the entire #drlevesqueSTRONG event held on Tuesday, August 24th. NorState FCU hosted this fire relief fundraiser to raise money for the Dr. Levesque school that tragically burned down on Sunday, July 25th . NorState FCU was joined by Adam Ouellette and Randy Cyr, who provided the evening’s musical talent, sound and stage by Glenn Landry (NoreMak Audio), and the team from Lakeview Restaurant manned the grills & fryers to provide delicious food. Along with the food sales from the event, Lakeview also donated a week’s worth of tips collected from take-out orders held during the week of July 26th . Funds were collected during the event at the entrance, from a bake sale and 50/50 raffle. Monetary donations were also made by Madawaska’s Music in the Park, Frenchville ATV Riders, Ridgewood Estates/Roy Family, Glenn Landry and NorState FCU. Altogether over $5500 was raised.

“On behalf of the staff of Dr. Levesque Elementary School, we thank NorState FCU for the amazing fundraiser they organized,” said Dr. Levesque Principal Cheryl Hallowell. “It was wonderful to spend an evening with the community that has always supported Dr. Levesque School and that has gone above and beyond during this difficult time. The food, the music, and the true sense of community was evident in every aspect of this event. Thank you to everyone who participated.”
